Spring Style Schemes

On Style

Believe me, I understand the struggle of looking at your closet and having no idea what to wear. This always particularly seems to be a problem for me as the seasons change. Luckily, I have discovered a few items that easing my season transition confusion. Here are some outfits for inspiration or as we’re going to call it on #offdutyonstyle, “Style Schemes”!

Sporty and Sleek:

I have been loving the sportswear inspired trend lately, but I always give trends my own personal twist. By adding two of my consistent wardrobe staples, a leather skirt and some black booties, the outfit is dressed and edged up with my own personal touch. I plan to stock up on choker necklaces and reflective sunglasses for this upcoming summer since they provide an effortlessly cool vibe. Toss on a beanie and/or a jacket until the weather warms up a bit more! This is my current go-to look for a night out.

Off the shoulder tops are hot right now and I am definitely a fan! Pairing them with midi skirts  allows for the dimensions to balance properly. Since this outfit is monochromatic, I love to add fun accessories such as a statement necklace and a flirty purse. This is great for a day to night look from the office to a night on the town.

Everyday Errands:

Boyfriend jeans are a key essential for spring. With a light wash and rips, they perfectly emulate spring’s warmth. This remains consistent with the floral top and the nude lace-up flats (I recently picked up a pair of these myself, they are very versatile!) I could not decide whether to put this outfit with a trench coat or a utility jacket so it was lucky when I stumbled on this sort of mashup between the two, but either would work!

Okay, so this Alexander McQueen bomber jacket might be around $3,000 but it is seriously beautiful. It reminded me of bubble gum and cotton candy, which made me instantly happy. Since it is out of my price range, I will admire it from afar, but you can pick up bomber jackets at retailers like Topshop and Forever21 (which is where I got mine). Using that as a statement piece, wear some ripped jeans, sneakers and minimal accessories and you are good to go!

I hope you enjoyed this first post in my Style Schemes series! Let me know what your favorite pieces for spring currently are in the comments!
