Off Duty / On Style
The end of July brings sad news as it means that I only have around one week left in New York City. Even though I am extremely sad to be leaving my favorite city, I know that I will be back soon enough. Read on to see what I have been loving for my second month living in NYC.
FASHION
Both of my fashion favorites this month are from Brandy Melville, which has been a real obsession for me lately. From the graphic T-shirts to their flowy tops and shorts, I cannot get enough. I bought myself this SoHo top on the left as a souvenir since that is one of my favorite NYC neighborhoods and I worked there. One thing that I love about this top and all of the things that I own from Brandy is how comfortable and versatile they are. The piece from Brandy on the left is the choker. This choker is a thick velvet black/burgundy color and I have been wearing it almost constantly since I got it, it’s so chic!
BEAUTY
These oil blotting sheets from e.l.f. only cost me $1 and they have been a lifesaver all summer. With running around at my internship, all I have had to do to avoid shine is grab one of these and wipe it over my face. The packaging is very portable and contains 30 sheets inside.
FOOD AND DRINK
The iced coconut milk mocha macchiato is probably my new favorite drink from Starbucks. I love the light taste of the coconut milk combined with the white chocolate and caramel syrup. I hope that it remains permanent on the menu!
This high fiber cereal from Trader Joe’s might look super boring, but it is actually very good! I love to eat it with almond milk in the morning to help kick start my day.
MUSIC
I cannot get enough of This Time It’s My Life by MICAR. I listen to it all the time when I’m working out and when I’m getting ready, it’s just great.
We Don’t Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth and Selena Gomez has a cool synth sound and their two voices really blend well together working with the heartbreaking lyrics.
I love to chill out to I Need a Forest Fire by James Blake featuring Bon Iver. I have been loving James Blake in general actually.
The Chainsmokers are one of my favorite artists and they really have made something amazing with their new song Closer featuring Halsey.
Well, it’s been real NYC, but I know it’s not goodbye, it’s see you soon! For now, back to the land of cheese in Wisco! See you all next month on #offdutyonstyle for some more favorites!
xx,
Kelsey Knepler
