On The Radar: Life Clothing Co.

On Style

Recently, I discovered LIFE Clothing Co. through an advertisement on Facebook page that some of my friends liked. I was instantly drawn to their super cool hippe/daydreamer/rocker aesthetic. After doing a little research I saw many positive reviews and even learned that this brand has been sold in Urban Outfitters (one of my favorite stores) before. The advertisment also had a coupon code so after shopping around a bit I figured, why not try it out?

October Favorites

Off Duty / On Style

To be straight, this has been a hectic month for me. As someone who absolutely loves Halloween, it has been disappointing to have a calendar so overflowing that I have barely had time to watch any Halloween movies or partake in the seasonal activities. Hopefully, November slows down a bit more! The good news is that a busy schedule has brought me lots of favorites for the month!

College Fashion Week Recap

On Style

Last Saturday October 15th, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend College Fashion Week in Chicago. After my summer in New York, these past months being separated from city life and the fashion scene have been very painful so this was a much-needed experience! I attended with my Her Campus chapter that I am the co-social media director for. Speaking of, make sure to follow our social media platforms (Instagram and Twitter).

September Favorites

Off Duty / On Style

Surprise! September’s favorites are arriving a bit early this month! I was just so excited to show you all what I have been loving for this first month back on the college grind. September has been crazy with school starting back up, two new jobs (Collegiate Representative at The New York Times and Sales Associate at White House Black Market) while also still continuing my other internships and commitments. It looks like my senior year will definitely not be lacking in excitement. Now let’s get into the favorites!

Find Your Fit: No Time to ‘Waist’

On Style

Today, we’re going to talk about the fit of your clothes. One thing I have really learned lately is that the fit between high and lower quality clothing is a distinct difference. You shouldn’t have to tug and adjust your clothing multiple times during the day. Having a flattering fit is everything for clothing because it makes you feel good about yourself rather than anxious about if everything is in place. Finding your waist is the a big key to mastering fit, this can be done with the following tips and tricks.

Back to School Style Schemes

On Style

It’s that time of year again, some love it and some dread it—back to school! I tend to fall somewhere in between on that spectrum, but this year is the last time that I will be going through the process since I am going to be a senior in college and have no intentions of further schooling. As much as I dislike going to class sometimes, I will miss the rush of excitement that comes with back to school and getting an excuse to pick out a whole new wardrobe. Here are some outfits that I am would love to sport for the first few days of class!

Internships: My Tips and Secrets

Off Duty / On Style

If you’ve been following along closely then you saw that last week I did a post about tips on navigating New York and living in the city (see that post here). However, I wanted to do a separate post about internships in general. I am a huge believer in the importance of internships, I am a campus ambassador for the Intern Queen, Lauren Berger, who famously had 15 internships in college. She’ll tell you herself that no one needs that many, but that it is critical to have at least two. Internships are great because they give you a chance to see what jobs are available in more of a real-world setting than a classroom. Continue reading

NYC Discoveries: Beacon’s Closet

On Style

I have never really been a big thrift store shopper, but since living in NYC I have found that  thrift stores can actually be a great spot to score awesome deals. I checked out a bunch of them where I live in the East Village and I started just popping in whenever I saw one. I am addicted to scavenging the racks and scoping out the designer products that New Yorkers have given up. After doing a quick online search for more thrift stores, I discovered Beacon’s Closet. I scanned some of their products that they had online and knew that I needed to head over.
