On The Radar: Life Clothing Co.

On Style

Recently, I discovered LIFE Clothing Co. through an advertisement on Facebook page that some of my friends liked. I was instantly drawn to their super cool hippe/daydreamer/rocker aesthetic. After doing a little research I saw many positive reviews and even learned that this brand has been sold in Urban Outfitters (one of my favorite stores) before. The advertisment also had a coupon code so after shopping around a bit I figured, why not try it out?

October Favorites

Off Duty / On Style

To be straight, this has been a hectic month for me. As someone who absolutely loves Halloween, it has been disappointing to have a calendar so overflowing that I have barely had time to watch any Halloween movies or partake in the seasonal activities. Hopefully, November slows down a bit more! The good news is that a busy schedule has brought me lots of favorites for the month!

College Fashion Week Recap

On Style

Last Saturday October 15th, I was blessed with the opportunity to attend College Fashion Week in Chicago. After my summer in New York, these past months being separated from city life and the fashion scene have been very painful so this was a much-needed experience! I attended with my Her Campus chapter that I am the co-social media director for. Speaking of, make sure to follow our social media platforms (Instagram and Twitter).

Why I Love American Horror Story

Off Duty

Most of my good friends know that I am completely obsessed with American Horror Story. I discovered the show about two years ago and have loved it ever since. For those who aren’t familiar, each season the show takes on a different theme or location with different characters that are often played by the same actors of the previous seasons. Past themes have included: Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak Show, Hotel and now Roanoke.

Warning: The content of this post is a little heavier than my typical topics as it is inspired by a show that has some more mature themes.

Brunch Quest: Short Stack Eatery

Off Duty

I first ate at Short Stack Eatery briefly after it opened a couple of years ago. I don’t remember specifically what I ordered, but I know it was some kind of pancakes (I think blueberry). Either way, I wasn’t overly thrilled by them so I didn’t feel the need to go back for awhile. After constantly walking past Short Stack’s huge line on the weekends, I decided to give it another go.

September Favorites

Off Duty / On Style

Surprise! September’s favorites are arriving a bit early this month! I was just so excited to show you all what I have been loving for this first month back on the college grind. September has been crazy with school starting back up, two new jobs (Collegiate Representative at The New York Times and Sales Associate at White House Black Market) while also still continuing my other internships and commitments. It looks like my senior year will definitely not be lacking in excitement. Now let’s get into the favorites!

Meditation Made Easy

Off Duty

Most people do not meditate for a variety of reasons. They may think it’s weird or say that they do not have enough time. However, what I have recently learned is that meditation is an absolutely essential part of the daily routine. Meditation does not have to be a big drawn out process; it can be done in a short period of time before you get out of bed in the morning or even while you are waiting for an elevator. Taking this time for yourself can make a huge difference in your daily attitude and mentality. If you are not sure how to start, here is a compiled list of a few methods to test out.

Find Your Fit: No Time to ‘Waist’

On Style

Today, we’re going to talk about the fit of your clothes. One thing I have really learned lately is that the fit between high and lower quality clothing is a distinct difference. You shouldn’t have to tug and adjust your clothing multiple times during the day. Having a flattering fit is everything for clothing because it makes you feel good about yourself rather than anxious about if everything is in place. Finding your waist is the a big key to mastering fit, this can be done with the following tips and tricks.
